Naivas Supermarket has appointed Andreas von Paleske as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding longtime CEO David Kimani.
The retailer announced that Andreas will officially assume the role on November 1, 2025, to steer the company through its next phase of growth.
Having served as Chief of Strategy for the past eight years, Andreas has been instrumental in Naivas’ expansion to over 100 branches nationwide.

His close collaboration with the outgoing CEO, David Kimani, is expected to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Before joining Naivas, Andreas held senior roles with private equity firms Lion Capital and Actis.
He has over 20 years of investment and operational experience in the consumer and retail sectors.
Outgoing CEO David Kimani, a founding member of Naivas Supermarket, has served in various leadership roles since 1990.
Kimani stepped down during the company’s 35th anniversary celebrations in July 2025, marking the end of a decades-long tenure at the helm.
Despite leaving top management, Naivas confirmed that Kimani will remain actively involved in the business, working alongside Charles Mukuha, the Director and Chief of Administration, and Peter Mukuha, the Chief Operating Officer.
Commenting on Andreas von Paleske’s appointment, Arnaud Lagesse, Chairman of Naivas International, praised his leadership and familiarity with the brand, saying, “With Andreas, we have the right leader to take the business to even greater heights.”
