Police Arrest Suspect in Land Fraud Case After Eldoret Escape

A suspected land fraudster who has been on the run for the last five years has been arrested.

The man, identified as Johanes Onkoba Boyi is suspected of defrauding unsuspecting land buyers in the North Rift Region, taking millions of shillings.

Boyi was located in his hideout in Nairobi City, where he had sought refuge to evade pending court cases in Eldoret.

After the arrest, the suspect was taken to an Eldoret Court where the prosecution opposed his release on bond citing flight risk.

The court was also told that two of his accomplices had been arrested and denied the charges, but they were both freed on bail.

The court therefore directed that the accused be escorted to Eldoret GK. Remand to prison until October 1, 2025 when the ruling on his bail/bond application will be determined.
