Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, popularly known as Buzeki, has officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as the country heads towards the 2027 General Election.
Buzeki was formally welcomed into the ruling party on Thursday, September 11, at a ceremony held at UDA headquarters, Hustler Centre, in Nairobi.
The event was presided over by UDA Secretary General Omar Hassan Omar.

With his entry, Buzeki is expected to mount another bid for the Uasin Gishu governorship in 2027, setting the stage for a potential showdown with the incumbent, Jonathan Bii.
Omar assured Buzeki of the party’s support and emphasized the importance of the Bottom-Up economic model in UDA’s agenda.
On his part, Buzeki described the move as a significant step in his political journey and expressed gratitude to the party for opening its doors to him.
Buzeki has twice contested the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat.
In 2017, he challenged then-Governor Jackson Mandago in the Jubilee Party primaries but lost after securing 82,869 votes against Mandago’s 126,681.
Undeterred, he ran as an independent in the general election, campaigning on inclusivity and agricultural development, but again came second with 148,121 votes to Mandago’s 193,604.
In 2022, Buzeki made another independent bid, this time distancing himself from UDA from the very beginning.
