Raphael Tuju Says He Would Decline Job Offer From President Ruto

Former Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has recently noted that he would turn down a job offer from President Ruto, stating that he is satisfied with his current status.

Speaking during an interview, Tuju stated that he is currently preoccupied with personal endeavours, including managing his private businesses.

According to him, he is living a happy life outside politics, and his freedom gives him the leeway to criticise either the government or the opposition.

Talking of if he would consider returning to the Jubilee Party if offered a chance, the former party Secretary-General downplayed the matter, stating that the future of Kenya was more significant than mere party politics.

He went on to emphasize that the current brand of politics in Kenya was no longer about the party but rather about matters affecting the whole nation, including having credible elections.

Tuju further criticised the youth-led protests recently witnessed in the country terming them an illegitimate attempt to overthrow Ruto’s administration.

He cautioned that attacks on a sitting government risk plunging the country into chaos and lawlessness, similar to the situations seen in nations like Somalia and South Sudan.
