The National Police Service has reported the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.
The police recovered the rifle while responding to a kidnapping attempt involving a 16-year-old girl.
The authorities acted on a tip-off from members of the public about a disturbance at a residence in the area.
According to reports, an armed man stormed the home in Kaapus Location and attempted to take away a 16-year-old girl forcibly.
Reports indicate that the firearm was recovered alongside six rounds of ammunition and one spent cartridge.
A manhunt for the suspect has since been launched to ensure his arrest and eventual charging in court.
