Police officers in Kwale County have arrested three suspects, including two foreign nationals, in connection with cultivating bhang in Mwabungo Village, Diani.
In a statement released on September 2, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) noted that the suspects were arrested following a multi-agency operation led by the Diani OCS.
The officers raided a residence and uncovered a cannabis plantation that had been converted into a fully operational grow house.

Those arrested include Wegener Geb Sikora and Heck Klaus Edmund, both German nationals holding tourist visas, and Anastasia Wangare, a Kenyan citizen.
According to a report from the DCI, all three suspects were found at the scene and taken into custody.
The suspects were handed over to Coast Region Anti-Narcotics detectives for further investigation.
This comes days after police officers from Gesonso Police Station in Kisii County arrested 43-year-old John Njomo Ndung’u and seized a substantial haul of bhang.
The officers had mounted a roadblock along the Migori–Kisumu highway to stop a suspicious, dark grey Toyota Sienta.
Police officers recovered five and a half gunny bags of bhang stashed inside the vehicle, and the narcotics were secured as exhibits.
