Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has recently raised concerns over rising insecurity in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).
Taking to his socials on Monday, September 1, Sonko noted that thugs armed with crude weapons have been stealing from unsuspecting members of the public.
The former Nairobi Governor noted that the thugs mainly target women in Nairobi CBD.

“Cases of thugs using crude weapons like knives, machetes, real and toy guns to steal from unsuspecting members of the public within the CBD have become rampant. Their main target is women,” Sonko noted.
He went on to call on the National Police Service (NPS) to take action on the suspects terrorizing members of the public in Nairobi CBD.
Sonko’s appeal comes after a woman narrated her encounter with suspected thugs along Kimathi Street.
In a video circulating online, the lady explained that she noticed a group of thugs trailing her before she quickly rushed to safety and requested an Uber.
