Boniface Muchiri, Ulinzi Stars captain has been promoted to corporal in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
Muchiri was officially conferred by Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, on August 27, 2025.
General Kahariri praised Muchiri’s discipline and excellence while serving Kenya and, by extension, the KDF.

The promotion is in recognition of his outstanding performance as a Harambee Stars striker at the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
An interim review of Ulinzi Stars Football Club’s progress from 2020 to 2025 was presented to General Kahariri.
Presented by Brigadier Ahmed Saman, the review assessed various elements including team management, player well-being, recruitment strategies, and training.
It also reviewed the adequacy of training facilities, equipment, and overall support infrastructure.
The report incorporated benchmarking against top clubs to identify best practices, with both short- and long-term measures proposed for enhanced competitiveness and management.
General Kahariri affirmed that KDF leadership will fully support the adoption of the recommendations.
He went on to emphasize that Ulinzi Stars must maintain competitiveness while reflecting the discipline and values of the Kenya Defence Forces.
