15 people sustained injuries on August 23 after an accident occurred at the Kibarani area along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.
While confirming the accident, the Kenya Red Cross noted that the accident involved a PSV matatu and a cargo container.
Rescue teams quickly responded to the scene and the injured were rushed to various health facilities.
Other reports revealed that of the injured, five were in critical condition.
Notably, the matatu reportedly had 13 passengers on board and the other eight suffered minor injuries.

Images and videos shared online showed the mangled wreckage of the matatu after it rammed into the container truck.
The truck was slightly dented from where the matatu had run into it.
The accident adds to a barrage of many more accidents that have been plaguing the nation for the past month, leaving dozens dead.
