Skyward Express suspends all flights to and from Kakamega as effective Monday 30th September 2024.
The decision comes due to the deteriorating condition of the runway.
Skyward Express has temporarily suspended operation of all flights to and from Kakamega from Monday 30th September.
In a letter dated on 28th September 2024, the company gave a notice to its passengers notifying early on the changes that are going to happen.
According to the company, the temporary suspension decision came as a result of poor condition of the runway at the Kakamega airstrip.
The Skywards Express management says that the deteriorating condition of the runway no longer meets their safety standards.
In the notice the company assured their passengers who have bookings on the affected flights that they will be assisted with an alternative arrangement.
The company concluded by offering their sincere apology for the inconvenience and are hopeful that the runway issue will be resolved soon.
