Margaret Nduta, a Kenyan woman who had been sentenced to death, has been reduced to a life sentence.
The ruling was made by a Vietnamese court on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Following the ruling, Nduta has been reduced to a life sentence and can apply for leniency in pursuit of her freedom.
Nduta had been convicted of smuggling two kilograms of narcotic drugs.
She made headlines on March 6th after being sentenced to death which raised a lot of concerns among Kenyans who wanted the Vietnamese government to reduce her sentence.
