A family in Kajiado is crying for the justice of their one-year-old son.
Their son was wrongfully admitted in a private hospital in Eastleigh Nairobi instead of the referred hospital Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
This was after the boy allegedly received anaesthesia overdose from a local Kajiado hospital that led to heart failure and a coma.
This led to a recommended transfer to Kenya National Hospital.
The child’s mother was able to pay Ksh 50,000 to facilitate the transfer as required by the hospital but to the parents shock, the baby was transferred to a private hospital in Eastleigh.
The situation deteriorated as not only were the parents denied access to their son but also assaulted.
The hospital on the other hand is holding the child demanding that the parents should clear the bill before seeing their child.
The whole situation began after a surgeon in Kajiado hospital demanded Ksh 5,000 for the correction surgery of the child.
However, complications led to the child being referred to Kenya National Hospital.
Now the parents are seeking that the Ministry of Health should facilitate the transfer of the child to the Kenya National Hospital as it had first been intended.
