The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has apprehended a Bomet County official for alleged bribery.
The commission revealed that the officer was nabbed on July 23, 2025, for receiving a KSh 25,000 bribe.
The NEMA County director demanded the bribe to allow the complainant to continue operating a lodging facility located in Mulot Township with no requisite approval.
According to the commission, they received reports of a bribery attempt on Tuesday, July 22.
Upon preliminary investigations, an operation was conducted that led to the arrest of the official.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken to Bomet Police Station for statement recording.
He was later released on Ksh. 30,000 cash bail.
