Nakuru Girls’ Secondary School was closed indefinitely on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
According to reports, the students were unhappy with the end-of-term examinations.
Thus, they expressed their frustrations by destroying property of unknown value.
Despite that, the school principal linked the strike to exam anxiety rather than dissatisfaction with the exam schedule.
Now it remains unclear when the High School will be opened following students’ unrest.
“The school closes today, July 23, 2025 at 8am till further communication. Please make arrangements to facilitate your daughter’s travel,” she said.
The school administration is expected to work with relevant government departments to assess the damage and determine the next course of action.
