Jimi Wanjigi Discloses DCI Officers Raided his Home on the Morning of Saba Saba

Businessman and politician Jimi Wanjigi has recently claimed that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) camped at his home on the morning of the Saba Saba commemoration.

In a statement on July 7, Wanjigi described the alleged police presence as a political intimidation tactic, further calling on President William Ruto to step down.

He went on to share images of a Toyota Hilux Double Cab and a white Subaru that arrived at the gate of his residence at 10:09 AM and 10:13AM respectively.

This is not the first time Wanjigi’s home has been raided, last year a heavily armed team of police officers raided his home in a multi-agency operation which lasted several hours.

According to accounts from his family and associates, officers searched through the mansion multiple times; once around 7pm, again at midnight, and a third time early the following morning.

During the search, police reportedly seized several items including iPhones, iPads, walkie-talkies, and fuel receipts.

They also claimed to have discovered four teargas canisters in a vehicle parked at the gate.

Wanjigi’s family later accused the police of threatening and assaulting them during the operation, while also alleging that property within the home was vandalised and that officers planted items during the search.
