The late Albert Ojwang was preparing to vie for the Kokwanyo Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in the upcoming 2027 general election, his uncle has revealed.
Speaking during Ojwang’s burial, the uncle disclosed that Ojwang was focused and optimistic of clinching the seat, even if not at his first attempt.
The uncle moreover noted that Albert always loved his family and occasionally visited him. It was during one of these visits that the deceased informed him about his political ambitions.

Narrating to the mourners, he recounted the last meeting they had, days before Ojwang met his unfortunate death.
The uncle went on to express his disappointment that Ojwang’s aspiration would now remain a dream following his untimely death.
According to the uncle, Ojwang’s political ambitions were rooted in his desire to uplift his community and give voice to the youth of Kokwanyo.
The uncle further said that they had already begun planning campaign strategies and community outreach programs.
Ojwang was arrested on June 7 by officers from the DCI after allegedly defaming Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat.
He was then taken to the Mawego police station before he was transported to the Nairobi Central police, where he lost his life the next day.
