Charlene Ruto Sends a Message to Youth After the June 25th Protests

President Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto has urged young Kenyans to reject divisive actions and instead channel their passion toward transformative engagements.

Taking to her socials, Charlene reflected on her close engagement with the young people over the past few years, highlighting their true desires.

“As I have intentionally met, deeply engaged, and heavily invested in the young people as a collective for the last 3 years, I have quickly learnt that young people are actually looking for connection, not conflict; they are looking for a platform, not destruction; they are looking for mentorship, not violence; and they definitely want to be part of the solution, not the problem,” she noted.

Charlene went on to emphasize that the country will not benefit from division.

According to her, the hate raids, mob mentality and the protests witnessed recently are far from unity.

Charlene’s remarks comes hours after Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo called on parents, religious leaders, and elders to help guide the younger generation after protests that were witnessed in several parts of the country on June 25.

While speaking in Bomet on June 30, Omollo urged older members of society to play a more active role in the lives of the youth and encourage them to express themselves in peaceful and respectful ways.
