“With President William Ruto, we share a common commitment: that no country should have to choose between development and protecting the planet. This is the ambition we are bringing today to Seville with our partners, as part of the Pact for Prosperity, People and the Planet launched two years ago in Paris,” he noted.

Macron moreover confirmed that the two countries would co-chair the upcoming Africa–France Summit, scheduled to be held in Nairobi.

According to President Macron, key projects are in progress between the two nations, including collaborations in energy transition and agricultural development.

The two leaders also took time during their meeting to deliberate on regional peace and security matters, pledging to work together in promoting stability across East and Central Africa.
