June 25 Protests: Dozens of Nyandarua County Vehicles Set Ablaze

Over 20 Nyandarua County government vehicles were allegedly torched during the June 25 demonstrations to mark the anniversary of the protests.

Reports indicate that the vehicles were parked at the Olkalou sub-county offices.

According to the county government, five of the sixteen were grounded in the incident, which also saw 18 county government motorbikes burnt.

The county also said that the newly purchased music equipment was destroyed in the fire.

Protests were also witnessed in cities such as Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kakamega, Narok, Busia, Makueni, Nyeri, Laikipia, and Machakos, among others.

During the protests, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) stated that it had recorded eight deaths.

The further reported over 400 casualties, including protesters, police officers and journalists.
