Kalonzo Urges All Kenyans to Attend the June 25th Protests

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyans to come out on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, to honor those who died and those who were injured during the 2024 Anti-Finance Bill protests.

Taking to his socials on Saturday, Kalonzo noted that the day should be called the ‘Gen Z Revolution Day’ to honor Kenyans who were killed in last year’s protests.

The politician went on to emphasize that his call to recognize June 25 was not driven by political gain, but because it was the right thing to do.

“On June 25th, Kenya will pause to honour our fallen heroes he young patriots who paid the ultimate price for our democracy. This must become Gen Z Revolution Day a sacred day when we remember those who stood weaponless against tyranny and gave everything for the Kenya they believed in. Months ago, I called for this day to be recognised, not for political mileage, not for attention, but because it is the right thing to do. These young Kenyans died for principles bigger than any of us,” Kalonzo noted.

He further reminded Kenyans to carry flowers, which will be laid in honor of the victims who died on June 25, 2024.

Kalonzo’s statement comes as Kenyans are planning to stage protests in Nairobi CBD and across major towns in the country on June 25 to commemorate the deadly aftermath of the 2024 anti-government protests.
