An actor and screen write has accused renown Tyler Perry of sexual harassment.
According to the actor, Tyler Perry made unwanted advances on several occasions while attempting to cover up an assault with an offer to develop a show.
Therefore, the actor is seeking punitive damages of US$260 million, alleging that the incident occurred at Perry’s home in Atlanta just a few months after their first meeting.
The actor also alleged that after he joined Perry’s show, “The Oval”, Perry would question his sexual preferences, go on sexual explicit rants, and call or text him almost every day, treating him as his on-call ‘pet’.
Furthermore, reports indicate that the actor was scheduled to debut his role on the show near the end, but was allegedly told his character might be kept on for future seasons if he did a ‘good job’.
However, Tyler Perry’s lawyer responded to the act in question, accusing the actor of getting close to the mogul in an attempt to ‘set up a scam’.
As of now, the status of the complaint remains unclear.
