The lawmaker moreover expressed concern about the arrest of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and the planned arrest of former DP Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“I want to remind them that they are there to serve Kenyans. They are paid by the taxpayers, and they need to respect Kenyans. They should not criminalise anyone who is trying to oversight the government. Whatever has happened to Natembeya and Gachagua should not happen again. Kenyans have the brains and they know when the President is doing the work and when he is not.”

Mp Salasya was arrested on Friday while in Nanyuki.

According to the authorities, the MP was arrested for remarks he made on social media. The remarks were regarded as insightful and amounted to hate speech.
