The protestors are said to have laid stones across the road, barring vehicles from driving past the Stima area of the popular Nairobi estate.

Police officers in the area arrived at the scene of the protests to calm the crowds.

In videos shared online showed Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), including cab-hailing service drivers, using estates and other feeder roads to get themselves out of the jam.

Details of the murder are yet to be made public.

This comes a few days after the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway was blocked after protesters took over the road at the Kiboko area.

They were similarly protesting the killing of a middle-aged man by a popular local businessman who reportedly teamed up with another individual to lynch the deceased.
