Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times while serving his 10-serving his 10-year time in prison.
Reports indicate that he was assaulted by another inmate, leaving him hospitalised and nursing several injuries.
Following the stabbing, Lanez received immediate attention from prison’s medical personnel before being transferred to an outside medical facility for further treatment.
The news was shared on his official Instagram account, where it was revealed that the rapper had sustained multiple stab wounds in the attack.
It also revealed that the rapper incurred injuries of seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head and one to the left side of his face.
Both of his lungs reportedly collapsed as a result of the stabbing and he was initially placed on a breathing apparatus, but according to the update provided, he is now breathing on his own.
“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support”, the statement read.
The rapper was convicted in 2023 on three felony charges related to a high-profile shooting involving rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The charges included assault with semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
