KDF Donates Aircraft to Moi Forces Academy-Lanet

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has donated a military aircraft to the Moi Forces Academy-Lanet for aviation studies.

The donation comes after the school launched an Aviation Technology subject, becoming the first National Girls’ School to offer it in the country.

The donation is expected to help the over 50 students currently enrolled in the subject gain practical exposure to aviation operations.

The school will now officially be the first girls’ national school to offer aviation studies as a subject.

Mang’u High School was the first in Kenya to introduce Aviation Technology as an examinable subject, with technical areas of study such as propulsion, thermodynamics, and meteorology.

Students undertake practical studies at Wilson Airport and Moi Air Force Base in Embakasi, and were recently donated a decommissioned plane for studies.

Other schools that offer aviation include Moi Forces Academy in Nairobi and Maseno School in Kisumu County.
