The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested the late Kasipul MP Charles Were’s driver and bodyguard.
The driver and the bodyguard were arrested on Tuesday, May 6 night and are being held of interest in the investigation of the murder of MP Were.
The two are being grilled after giving conflicting statements about the events before and after the shooting of the MP.

Notably, four other suspects are already in custody in connection with the murder of the Kasipul lawmaker.
The suspects were on Monday presented before the JKIA Court, where investigators secured a 30-day custodial order to facilitate further investigations.
Moreover, two additional suspects, Edwin Oduor Odhiambo alias Abdul Rashid, and Dennis Sewe Munyasi, have been arrested over the same killing.
Upon their arrest, the suspects led the investigators to Odhiambo’s house, where two pistols, a Retay Falcon and a Sarsilmaz, were recovered, and nine rounds of 9 mm calibre ammunition were found.
The DCI officers also recovered a bag and footwear matching the description of those worn by one of the suspects at the scene of the incident.
The items have been submitted for forensic examination.
The late MP was shot on April 30, at a traffic light on Ngong Road near the City Mortuary roundabout.
