Passengers of a Guardian Angel bus were on Monday, April 28 forced to flee to safety after the bus burst into flames along Waiyaki Way at the Gitaru Interchange.
Videos and photos shared online showed the most affected area was the right side near the rear tyres, suggesting that the fire may have started there.
As a result, the vehicle was filled with smoke, forcing the passengers to flee to safety.

Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further.
Moreover, no casualties were reported and all passengers were safely evacuated.
The morning incident caused a temporary traffic disruption at the Gitaru interchange, as the bus was briefly rendered immobile with a considerable part of the rear wheels badly damaged from the fires.
Incidents of buses catching fire in Kenya have been prevalent, with a worrying trend showing that long-distance buses are the most affected.
