Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has returned to the country after spending months in the United States.
On Friday, April 25, 2025, she shared photos of friends and family at her home who had come to officially welcome her and the children back home.
“Truly blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude. I was deeply humbled and honoured to receive a warm visit from my dear friends who came to welcome home and celebrate the arrival of my twin babies,” the Nakuru governor stated in a Facebook post.
“Your love, prayers and presence mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for standing with me in this special season of double blessings,” she added.

Her absence had created controversy due to her absence from work among the public.
Her prolonged stay in the United States raised concerns, leading to Nakuru residents petitioning the County Assembly.
Among them was Evans Kimori, who filed a petition for Kihika to be deported from the United States.
He argued that the absence disrupted Nakuru’s essential activities such as the closure of War Memorial Hospital.
