Stephen Odhiambo, the man who hung on a helicopter carrying content creator Oga Obinna, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
The incident took place after the wedding of Prince Indah at Migori as the wedding attendees were departing.
Odhiambo was charged with a disorderly act of endangering the safety and security of those who had boarded the chopper.
During the court proceedings, he pleaded guilty to the charges before Senior Magistrate Mathias Okuche.
He expressed remorse over the incident and pleaded for leniency.
He was therefore sentenced to 18 months in prison or pay a fine of Ksh500,000.
The judgment followed his arrest by Migori police officers after a video of him went viral on social media platforms showing him hanging on a chopper.
Reports indicate that he was arrested after sneaking back to his house at midnight, where he was resistant and tried to escape but he was handcuffed and escorted to the police station.
According to a statement by the helicopter pilot, the security officers ordered people to stand at least 10 metres away from the chopper but Odhiambo refused and insisted that he wasted to board the chopper.
After being denied the opportunity, he resorted to hanging on the chopper as it ascended.
