Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) has indicated that he might vie for Presidential bid 2027 with his counterpart Ndindi Nyoro as the deputy.
Speaking on the Hot 96 Breakfast show, Owino mentioned list of potential allies such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Edwin Sifuna and Eugene Wamalwa among others.
“It all depends on the decision we make together with my brother, Ndindi, who is also a high performer. If we decide to pursue the presidency today, with Ndindi as my deputy, we could do it without even hiring agents,” the Embakasi MP said.
Owino expressed his disappointment in President William Ruto’s and Governor Johnson Sakaja’s leadership.
“I am truly disappointed because this is a president who had the potential to be the best in Kenya, having risen from a humble background. This is the person whom he won in 2022; I knew that this person had won in 2027. But as we move towards 2027, I know that he’s losing it because of the obvious things” the Embakasi MP added.
He cited instances of corruption in Nairobi stating that the World Bank previously allocated Ksh.380 million for road construction projects in Embakasi East, Mathare and Roysambu Constituencies, only for the funds to be mismanaged under the Governor’s sight.
The MP further stated that his supporters are passionately urging him to run for President in 2027.
