Former Kajiado County Woman Representative Janet Marania Teyiaa has passed away.
Former Duty President Rigathi Gachagua shared the news on his social media platform on Monday, April 7, 2025.
“I have learnt of the passing of Janet Marania Teyiaa with great shock. I served with Janet in the 12th parliament when she represented the people of Kajiado County as a Woman Representative,” Gachagua wrote.
Marania was nominated as a Member of Parliament in 2013 but later got voted in as a Woman Representative in 2017.
Gachagua also described her as resilient and a great spirit .
“Janet, as a young girl, saved by social worker due to her disability in her childhood day, brimmed the epitome of resilience and a great spirit that nothing can stop a great soul from realizing their dreams especially the people who are abled differently” he added. was
The former DP also stated that Marania’s contribution towards Kajiado County speaks volumes about her resolve, especially speaking and advocating for the people living with disabilities.
“May her soul rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her forever”, he further stated.
Details about the cause of her death have not yet been known.
