Many have eulogised the late George including Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai.

“George Oduor, rest in peace, my brother. I will miss your wise counsel and guidance. You were more than an aide to Baba. You offered to us brotherly advice and sought to mentor us.”

ODM Communications Director Philip Etale also mourned Oduor, describing him as a steadfast friend and confidant.

“This is one man who stood by me at all costs. I have lost a friend. Rest easy George,” Etale said in an emotional statement.

United Green Movement (UGM) party co-leader Neto Agostinho was also not left out, recalling his past interactions with Oduor.

“Rest you in peace, George Oduor. Loyalty as it comes. Met him in 1984 in the tenement where we lived in Homabay. He was together with a group who had been sent away from the military in the 1982 coup. Our paths reconnected when I worked for the Constant Gardiner Trust in Kibera. He was to be a key support system in my by-election engagement in the ODM nomination of September 2012. He remained invaluable in my entire period as an MP in the ODM Party. Dependable. Loyal and all those virtues you need in an Aide. My Condolences to Raila Odinga and the ODM party fraternity,” he noted.

Oduor had been a close associate of Raila for many years,  often seen as his bodyguard, and was a familiar figure at Raila’s events and rallies.
