Sports CS Visits the Junior Starlets Camp with a 1.25M Cash Morale Booster

Sports CS Salim Mvurya paid a courtesy visit to the Kenya Under-17 Women’s National Team on Thursday evening, accompanied by FKF President Hussein Mohammed, Vice President Macdonald Mariga, and CEO Harold Ndege.

This visit comes as the team prepares for the final round of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.

Kenya’s U17 women’s national team, the Junior Starlets, secured their place in the third round of the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with a decisive 5-0 aggregate victory over Uganda.

With this win, the Junior Starlets advance to the third and final round, where they will face Cameroon in a crucial two-legged tie. The winner will earn a spot in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which is set to be hosted in Morocco later this year.

“The Kenya Under-17 Women’s National Team has received Ksh 1.25 million from well-wishers and the government,” stated FKF President Hussein Mohammed.

Kenya’s U17 Girls team is scheduled to depart for Morocco on Tuesday or Wednesday, where they will play two friendly matches against the host nation. The team will spend a week in Morocco before returning home.

These matches are part of their preparation for the important World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon, which are set for April.
