Kibera Soccer Women FC triumphed 0-1 over Trinity Queens while Vivian Shiyonzo extended her clean-sheets tally to 10 as they reclaimed the FKF Women Premier League in a match rescheduled for Wednesday Noon in Nakuru.
The slum girls avenged the same fate they suffered in the first leg at home when they lost 0-1 to the Nakuru-based Club in similar events as they conceded early in the first half and the visitors were able to hold on and defend cautiously to guard their goal with three points advantage back home.
Kibera travelled with a good understanding of what the match entailed as they had to revenge as well as maximise the points to reclaim the top spot on the log.
Anna Arusi rose to action in the 31st minute as she received a through ball from Faith Mboya to cut through the defence and bury home in an empty net in what would then turn out to be the only difference between the two sides until the last whistle of the match.
The much-needed win raises Kibera Soccer Women FC back to the top of the league with 34 points just a point ahead of second-placed Kenya Police Bullets FC. On the other hand, Kibera’s on-form goalkeeper Vivian Shiyonzo topped up her number of clean-sheets to 10 and the top on the log as well.
Kibera will be hosting Kisumu All-Starlets in their next fixture on Sunday at 11 AM at Marist International University.
