Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has vowed to launch a spirited legal challenge in the coming days against her impeachment.
This comes a day after Isaac Mutuma was sworn in as the new Governor after the High Court upheld her impeachment by the Senate.
“I will pursue all legal avenues to clear my name and expose the injustices that have been perpetrated against me. This is not just my fight; it is a fight for every woman who dares to dream of leadership in a society that often seeks to crush those dreams” Mwangaza said.
“In the coming days, I will be exploring all legal and constitutional avenues to challenge this injustice. I will also continue to engage with the people of Meru to ensure that their voices are heard and their needs are met” she added.
The former Meru governor blamed her impeachment on male leaders whom she alleged mastermind her ouster.
According to Mwangaza, leaders were scared of her ‘dedication to the truth and the welfare of the people of Meru’.
She added that her impeachment was based on legitimate grounds but instead a politically motivated scheme.
