Brian Odhiambo’s Mother, Wife and Brother Arrested During Protests

The family of Brian Odhiambo, who allegedly went missing on January 18, has been arrested.

Among those arrested were Brian’s mother, Elizabeth Auma, his wife and his brother, who were reportedly protesting against Brian’s disappearance.

According to human rights activist Hussein Khalid, the family members were arrested while seeking answers after reports emerged that Brian’s body had been inside the park.

” Just been informed that Brian Odhiambo’s wife, mother and brother have been arrested while protesting outside the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) gate at Lake Nakuru. They were seeking answers after reports surfaced that Brian’s body had been inside the park,” Hussein stated.

He then went ahead to share an image showing Odhiambo’s family members, including his mother, inside an alleged police officer’s vehicle.

Revealing the details, it was never clear who ordered their arrests.

Since Odhiambo’s disappearance, his family has visited hospitals and morgues in Nakuru without success.

The family lawyer had stated earlier that an informer had come forward claiming that Brian’s body was being held within the precincts of Lake Nakuru National Park.

According to the source, his body was among six bodies discovered in a shallow grave within Lake Nakuru National Park.

This prompted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Odhiambo’s family to seek access to the park.

Upon arriving, they were denied entry access which got them arrested.

Moments later, Hussein posted on his X account, confirming that his family members had been released unconditionally by the police.

He claimed that the arrest was a mere threat and intimidation for following up on Brian Odhiambo’s matter.

Currently, the family lawyer has filed a complaint to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) seeking urgent whereabouts of Brian Odhiambo after KWS officers denied them entry.
