Professor Makau Mutua has denied claims that he secretly met with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former Attorney General Githu Muigai on Friday, March 14.
In a statement released on X on March 15 2025, Mutua dismissed the claims that he allegedly had a meeting with the two at Savid Garden, Kiambu road, emphasizing that he has never met the former DP.
“Just to set the record straight. I met neither Gachagua nor the former Attorney General Githu Muigai at Savid Garden on Friday, March 14. I have never met Mr.Gachagua and have no plans to,” he stated.
“However, I did meet with my friend Paul Muite to catch up over the Nyama Choma. Too may idle people,” he added.
Blogger Maverick Aoko on Friday 14 had claimed that Mutua, a known ally former Prime Minister was seen meeting with Gachagua and Githu Muigai at Sarvid Garden on Kiambu Road.
She also stated that she would keep everyone updated on what would transpire in the meeting.
The meeting had raised eyebrows to several Kenyans as Makau is known as a close ally of Raila Odinga.
Since being a key strategist in Odinga’s camp, he played a central role in his African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson bid.
