Kenya Power Issue Vacate Notice to Komarock Residents

Kenya power has ordered Nairobi residents in Komarock to vacate land within three months or be forcefully evicted.

According to Kenya Power, those occupying the land listed LR No.113044/R NAIROBI without a license violated a decree issued by the Milimani Law Courts on September 26, 2024.

“To the general public and all unlawful occupiers of Komarock, take notice that you are in unlawful occupation of KPLC land LR NO.113404/R Nairobi, situate in Komarock, Nairobi City County, without express or lawful authority, or any right or licence under law, and in violation of the decree issued by the court in Milimani Enviroment and Land Court Case number 1453 of 2007 on August, 26, 2024” part of the notice read.

Therefore, the utility firm issued a notice to the public to stop all activities on the land and remove any buildings, agricultural practices and other improvements that may have been put into place.

“Take notice that at the expiry of the three months, you will be evicted without any further interference to you at your costs and peril”, a further part of the notice read.

Citing the Land Act, unlawful occupation is defined as either occupying, erecting buildings, cultivating or extracting resources on public land without a license or authority.

Those found guilty can face a fine of up to Ksh 500,000.
