The key suspect in British businessman Campbell Scott’s murder case has committed suicide.
According to reports, the suspect who had been on the run died on March 12 2025, while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Musembi was also reported to have been hiding at a friend’s house in Dandora, Nairobi.
The detective report indicated that he had sought temporary accommodation at the friend’s residence, claiming that he wanted to rest away from his house.

However, on Tuesday March 11 2025, Musembi’s friend left Musembi at his house and headed to work, but found the door locked from the inside upon returning in the evening.
This prompted him to break in, only to discover Musembi lying on the bed with foam coming from his mouth and nose while blood oozed from a stab wound on his neck.
The friend informed Musembi’s family members and neighbors who rushed him to Mama Lucy Hospital but were allegedly turned away due to his condition.
It was then that he was transferred to KNH where he succumbed to his injuries.
This comes weeks after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) called on Kenyans with information of the whereabouts of Musembi and his accomplices Bernard Mbunga Mbus and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa to come forward.
According to DCI, the three suspects had gone into hiding after killing Scott and dumping his body in a forest in Makueni.
