Campell Scott’s Murder Tied to Online Gang Targeting Tourists

Businessman Campbell Scott’s murder has recently been linked to ruthless robbers using an online dating app.

The latest details that have emerged about his murder show that a criminal syndicate that targets wealthy tourists and expatriates might have been in contact with him through online dating apps such as Tinder.

The previous reports indicate that Scott went missing in February after checking into a luxurious hotel in Nairobi where he was to attend a business conference.

After failing to show up for the meeting, he was reported missing and with intense search, his body was discovered in Makongo forest, Makueni County.

The online criminal syndicate is said to lure victims through online dating platforms, with foreign men being their main targets.

The gang uses social media and dating apps such as Tinder to send female accomplices who set up meetings under romantic encounters.

Later on, the victims arrive at the planned location, which is a rented flat and are ambushed and tortured for financial information.

But the latest report from Scottish Daily Express alleged that CCTV footage captured Scott leaving a bar in Westlands with an unidentified man.

The two boarded a taxi to Pipeline, where the businessman was held hostage, tortured and killed for his bank details, from where KSH 1.9 M was withdrawn from his account.
