Ronaldo Penalty Sends Al-Nassr into the AFC Champions League Quarters

Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot, sending Al-Nassr into the AFC Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Esteghlal 3-0.

On March 10, 2025, Al-Nassr faced Esteghlal FC in the second leg of their round of 16 match. The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw.

As the teams met at Al-Awwal Park in Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr emerged victorious. They defeated Esteghlal 3-0 to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Al-Nassr opened the scoring in the ninth minute with an early goal from Jhon Duran. In the 27th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo added to their tally by successfully converting a penalty kick, as he has done numerous times before. Jhon Duran then scored his second goal in the 84th minute, sealing the victory for Al-Nassr.

Al-Nassr is currently aiming for their first Asian championship as they advance to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League. In the Saudi Pro League, however, there is still work to be done, as they currently sit in fourth place behind their rivals Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
