The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) images of three suspects in the murder of British businessman Campbell Scott.
He was reported missing on February 16 2025, and found dead days later in Makongo forest along the Wote-Machakos highway in February 2022.
In a statement released on March 7 2025, DCI asked the public to help in tracking three individuals who are suspected to be linked to the murder of Scott.
“The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025, in Makongo forest, Makueni Sub-County. Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference,” the DCI stated.
According to the DCI, the trio went into hiding following the crime and appeals to Kenyans to share information whenever they cite any about them.
“Following the heinous crime and subsequent dumping of his body, the trio Bernard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa alia Edu fled and have since gone into hiding. This comes days after the DCI boss Amin Mohammed announced that the Prime suspect in the case was apprehended, revealing that he had been hiding since the brutal murder on February 18 2025.
A taxi driver and waiter had initially been arrested and were detained as the prime suspects but they were cleared off the crime and set free to serve as witnesses.
On the other hand, the autopsy performed by Government pathologist Dr.Richard Njoroge did not show any motive for the murder as the soft tissue injuries found on the body were considered too minor to be fatal.
Other forensics tests are currently being conducted.
