The husband of Dolly Parton, Carl Dean died on Monday and he was 82 years old.
Parton and Carl Dean were married for nearly 60 years however, their marriage was out of the public spotlight despite Parton’s chart-topping fame.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” Parton wrote in a statement.

The family has asked for respect and privacy at this time.
The cause of death was not disclosed.
The two ment when Parton was 18 years old at Wishy Washy Laundromat the day she moved to Nashville back in 1964.
They married two years later in a small ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia.
The late Dean was a businessman, having owned an asphalt-paving business in Nashville.
The couple never had children together.
