Comedian Desagu Makes Public Appearance After Rehab

Kenyan comedian and content creator Henry Desagu has made another public appearance after battling depression and alcohol addiction.

On Sunday, the comedian attended a church service at JCM Church, led by Bishop Muthee Kiengei, where he shared his journey to healing and recovery.

Desagu started by expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received during his lowest moments.

“Thank God for healing me, and I appreciate Bishop Ben Guka wa Nairobi Muthee Kiengei for the prayers. Thanks to Mofarm JM for walking with me through this journey. I appreciate everyone for their great support,” he shared.

Desagu went on to openly admit how life had taken a toll on him.

“I’m the one who always tells you ‘umbwedede’ on social media, but in reality, life had made me ‘umbwedede.’ I was sick with depression, but God is good. I went to the hospital and received treatment,” he told the congregation.

Bishop Kiengei prayed for him and encouraged him to remain strong and make a comeback in his career.

“Now that he is well, Desagu must use his talent to rise again. He should remain strong and continue with his purpose,” the bishop advised.

For months, Desagu struggled with mental health issues that affected his career.

His family had previously revealed that he was battling severe depression and alcoholism, which eventually led to his hospitalization.

His journey to recovery was made possible through the generosity of well-wishers.

Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia organized a fundraiser to cover his medical and rehabilitation expenses.

Businessman Elijah Njoroge, also known as Mofarm JM, also played a significant role in ensuring Desagu got the help he needed.
