At least six people have been confirmed dead following a horrific road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Thursday night, July 30.
The fatal crash involved a 14-seater matatu, a private van, and a trailer, with the impact leaving the matatu extensively damaged.
Emergency response teams, police officers, and members of the public rushed to the scene shortly after the accident to rescue survivors trapped inside the wreckage.

The injured were evacuated and taken to Burnt Forest Sub-County Hospital and Plateau Mission Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The bodies of the six victims were moved to a nearby mortuary awaiting formal identification and postmortem examinations.
Preliminary reports indicate that three of those who lost their lives were students, although authorities are yet to release their identities as they continue notifying their families.
Photos shared online showed the 14-seater matatu with its front section completely crushed, highlighting the force of the collision.
The private van also sustained significant damage, while the trailer remained at the scene as police launched investigations.
Traffic officers have since commenced investigations to establish the circumstances that led to the crash, including whether speeding, dangerous overtaking, or mechanical failure may have contributed to the tragedy.
The accident caused a temporary traffic snarl-up along the busy highway as emergency teams cleared the wreckage before normal traffic flow resumed.
The latest incident adds to the growing number of fatal road accidents reported on Kenyan highways in recent weeks, renewing calls for motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations.
